Troon, in South Ayrshire, is situated on the coast, about 8 miles north of Ayr and only 3 miles north west of Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. It's only a drive and a five iron away from Glasgow - the drive being 34 miles down the M77, and its railway station is on the main Glasgow - Ayr line.
It's also a port with a ferry service - the P&O Express to Larne - and it has a yacht marina. For those from further afield or with their own jet aircraft, you can fly directly into Prestwick International Airport. So no excuses for not getting here.
Other than the Live@Troon Music Festival, Troon is famous for its golf, wind surfing, glorious beach and streets paved with gold. In fact, generally it's a pretty good place to visit at any time!
